I recently started a 1700ft lime based plaster project in Langley, B.C. Let me start off by saying what a change it is driving into work and not haveing to deal with traffic and the highways, this is a real treat for me. The finish I will be doing is a 2 toned distressed finish, Material supplied by Stucco Italiano. Areas include ceiling trays in the kitchen and the vaulted ceiling in the great room + large wall in great room. I will also be restaining the Fir Trusses in the great room and the complete interior painting . The interior will be painted using Benjamin Moore Aura ,Supplied by the Tsawwassen branch In Delta BC they always go the extra mile for me. Here are some photos of the project, I will add more as the project continues.

This project will involve striping the paint off the stair case to expose the wood and stain to match the new flooring, will also will be wood graining the beams in the ceiling to match the new hard flooring and the 4 tear wood molding separating the ceiling. To complete the project will be using Benjamin Moore Aura Latex paint for a more Eco-friendly finish and wash ability. Completion is November 2008.

……Update………. this is a close up shot of the stair case after stripping and staining have been completed.

These are some shots of the scaffolding needed to do the wood grain on the sky-light beams. As you can see from the photo’s I need to do some heavy repairs, I decided to create plastic drop catchs for the sanding dust and old drywall to prevent it form going all through the house.

Many people are unaware of wood graining a lost art which I have used for the past few years to bring life to railings that were once lifeless and stark white. In October of 2008 we will be completing 3 different wood graining project’s I will post photos as the projects are started. These photos are from 2007 notice how the railing wraps around and there is a break to simulate a joint in the wood.

This is a project i have had on the back burner for a few months, it involved leveling the brick and filling in the gaps from the morter. i have to this date only got to the base coat phase. ****completion date October 08****.

This is one of our current projects on the go located in the new district of south surrey, both bathrooms will be completed with Carrara Marmorino completion date is the 21st of September check back for the completed photos.

******* Update this is the finished shot of the master bathroom***** a dark grey finish with a hint of brown.

Walls made of water is what many people say this finish looks like, with its high and low polished area’s it adds a great deal of depth and character to any room. While this finish looks like it has a great deal of texture it is quite smooth. The project involved 2 bathrooms with a walk threw shower (1st one i have ever seen) the ceiling was completed in the same finish to complete the ambient atmosphere. I used Lime based Carrara Marmorino an organic green plaster that consists of crushed marble.

A two colour application was used to render this wood craftsmanship to resemble an old bank entryway. The idea came from an old bank fascade in New York.

Now, just to get things clear in the beginning, I am not one to usually take on faux finishing projects, but when I see a real challenge – I like to step up and dive head first.  This wall was damaged during an extensive renovation.  The project involved repairing the holes, matching the existing finish and replicating the stencil.  Keep in mind that I did not do the wall in its entirety (only the repairs) so all the work I did had to blend in with the original finish in order for it to look natural and untouched.
